As a leading manufacturer in the fabrication of curved and bent glass solutions field, we offer a comprehensive and innovative portfolio of customized curved glass products for architecture, interior design, and furniture, from simple panes to complex structures, single units, and large numbers. Our glass bending equipment can handle bent tempered, bent laminated, monolithic, and even bent insulating units.
How Is Curved Glass Made?
Curved glass, also referred to as bent glass, has been heated past its softening point and formed into a curved shape, either by annealed gravity bending or by heat-treated bending. In the case of gravity bending, the softened glass is placed over or into a mold and cooled down slowly after the required shape is achieved.
Through a manufacturing process of heating, curving, and rapidly cooling the glass, curved tempered glass is 4-5 times stronger than annealed glass. It can be used in applications requiring safety glazing and structural glazing. Unlike the length and width dimensions needed to order a piece of flat glass, the fabrication of curved glass requires precise measurements of the shape of the bent glass.
